Farm fresh meats and eggs are available at the Briar Hill Farmstand, so you can enjoy local products during your stay. We also have additional bundles of firewood available here, so if you don't want to gather you own (which you may do) we've got you covered!Enjoy your stay in the quiet town of Goshen, with numerous farms and wineries nearby as well as farmers' markets and more! This area has so much to offer just a short distance away including award winning restaurants, some of the most beautiful walking and hiking trails, wineries, a distillery as well as local farmers markets.Only 3 miles away is Mohawk State Forest; the sixth oldest forest in the Connecticut state forest system. It is located in the southern Berkshires in the towns of Goshen, Litchfield and Cornwall. The park encompasses 3,703 acres, featuring trails and paved roads to walk on; allowing for recreation by campers of all ages and abilities. Five miles away the Litchfield Town Green offers shops, historical tours and restaurants.White Memorial Foundation is a 4000 acre nature preserve 5 miles away, with over 40 miles of trails and so much more!

Two developed areas, Copake Falls and Rudd Pond, offer an extensive trail system with terrain that varies from easy to challenging, offering spectacular views. This double campsite is located at Rudd Pond with a great view of the lake! Rudd Pond offers swimming and boat rentals on the weekends and holidays. Its also a great place to go fishing. Bike or stroll along the Harlem Valley Rail Trail, hike to Bash Bish Falls, just over the Massachusetts border or up Brace Mountain, the highest point in Dutchess County. Stop at the newly created Iron Works museum to learn about the iron industry at the former site of Copake Iron Works, established in 1845.You can also visit the Copake Falls area of the park (about 10 miles to the north) which offers swimming opportunities at a designated swimming area with a dock in Ore Pit Pond and at the adjacent kiddie pool. The small but deep Ore Pit Pond is a popular destination due to its excellent water quality. Swimming is permitted when lifeguards are on duty-- floatation devices are not allowed. Fresh water fishing enthusiasts will delight in hooking brown trout and other fish in the Bash Bish Brook or rainbow trout in the old iron ore mine pit.Your double campsite at Taconic State Park accommodates up to 12 campers with two safari tents and 2 pop-up tents. Each 10' x 12' Safari platform tent has a Queen bed and up to 4 additional campers can fit in the included pop-up tents. For parents with toddlers or young children, the spacious canvas tent can fit a pack-n-play or even a twin air mattress next to the Queen bed. The Queen bed is outfitted with a 5" memory foam mattress. No linens or pillows are provided - so please bring bedding and if you plan to use the pop-up tent, mats or air mattresses are recommended for comfort.Your Tentrr site also has a picnic table with a prep station, two Adirondack chairs, and a fire pit with grill top.
