Byrne State Forest is your neighbor to the east (less than 2 miles away) with a variety of activities, including many hiking trails, or you are free to walk about the farm for a more leisurely stroll.Convenience and liquor store less than ten minutes by car, less than 20 minutes to a major department store. The site is bounded by the Saucon Creek and a 30' high limestone outcrop. The campsite is perched 30 feet above the creek, but another trail provides easy access. The site is accessed off a private drive, through a field and down a gentle grade to the campsite.The site is an easy walk (less than a mile) from the Hellertown Park n' Ride. Campers can also enjoy fishing, tubing, kayaking and swimming right outside of your campsite. Hiking, mountain biking trails and a rail trail are within a mile of the site. All of these amenities plus paintball and more are available in the surrounding area. The camp is at the base of Wawayanda mountain right between the iconic hikes "Stairway to Heaven" and "Pochuck Boardwalk" on the Appalachian Trail. Hike right from camp up to "Pinwheel Vista" (named one of NJ's best viewpoints)!At the entrance to the property is the Valley Farmers Cooperative that sells local grass fed meats and artisanal farm goods. You can walk two minutes to Heaven Hill Farm which has plenty of goods, produce, and fun fall activities like pumpkin picking and haunted hayrides. Drive your car from route 94 directly to your campsite nestled in the woods with a great view of the valley. A perfect getaway from the city with plenty to offer. About 10 minutes down 94 is the beautiful town of Warwick or about 4 minutes in the opposite direction is the town of Vernon. Warwick is a quaint small town with plenty of great restaurants, bars, breweries, wineries, and orchards. Vernon has plenty to offer as well including the popular ski resort/waterpark/mountain bike park "Mountain Creek", Minerals Spa, and Great Gorge Golf Course located just under 10 minutes away.The quiet charm of Wawayanda State Park appeals to hikers, campers, swimmers and boaters. Forested hills surround Lake Wawayanda creating a restful backdrop for canoeists and fisherman, while steep mountains challenge casual as well as serious hikers. A twenty-mile stretch of Appalachian Trail runs through the park, while the top of Wawayanda Mountain offers sensational views. More than sixty miles of trails are marked in the park.

If hanging out at the campsite is more your speed, that's encouraged too! Nearby is Big Creek Winery and Vineyard, Haydt's Meat Market and Farm, Beltzville Beverage for ice, soda, water and adult beverages. In the spring and early summer, the stream is high enough to float via tube or kayak to the lake. For the fisherman the creek is suitable for light spinner and fly fishing. The stream is not stocked and contains native species of trout.

This is one of the most beautiful parts of New Jersey with its unique rock formations, pristine forests, and varied fauna and flora. Montague, NJ is the only town in NJ that borders NY and PA. There are no traffic lights and it is not far from the bustle of the surrounding metropolitan area. However, when you wake up here you will feel what our first Americans felt and exclaim "God is great." You can skip church and marvel at what the Creator entrusted the Lenni Lenape or "the common or original people" with.Secluded woodland site off a dead-end street about 1/2 mile from the Delaware River and the nearby attractions include horseback riding, farms, canoeing, biking, etc. Enjoy tall pine trees, hemlock, and a small seasonal creek. The site is situated on a 5-acre lot adjacent to the property owner's other 60 acres and about 40 more state-owned acres that are adjacent to the lot. Very desolate once you're here but only about 5 minutes away from Port Jervis, NY, and 10 minutes away from Milford, PA. Enjoy the Highlands nature at its best including deer, bear, fox, raccoon, turkey, fishers, skunks, porcupines, turtles, snakes, and frogs. Because we are located near the Delaware River the mornings are full of dew and the temperature seems to be about 10 degrees lower than the rest of NJ due to the vibrant foliage and higher elevation. It beats the Jersey Shore in terms of recharging with nature's healing powers.
