Zirkel Cabin

Named after the tallest peak in the region, this two-story, three-bedroom cabin feels like the quintessential log cabin. Exposed rough cut logs on the walls and ceiling give it a cozy, cabin atmosphere. Antiques line the wall behind the wood burning stove in the large living room, and separate stairways up to the second floor rooms give everyone plenty of space to spread out in the cabin. The master suite, with its custom log king bed, is nestled in the back of the cabin facing a hillside of aspens. On the second floor, there is a queen-bedded room with private bath and a room with two twin beds and private bath, both overlooking the lodge and the Elk River valley.

Hinman Cabin

Newly remodeled in 2018 this cabin has quickly become a guest favorite. The master bedroom on the second floor features a double exposure for a light and airy ambiance, while the king bed is tucked in privately. As parents relax in the master bedroom, let the kids or another couple take over the roomy second bedroom, which is lined with a queen and two twin beds--a place for late night giggles and gabfests. A favorite of the kids, as it is the closest cabin to the Kid’s Hut and barn.

Policies
Park Policy

Your deposit will be refunded less a $100/person cancellation fee if cancellation is made more than 90 days prior to arrival.

Between 90 and 45 days prior to arrival you may chose to roll your deposit to a stay in the following 12 month window.

Within 45 days of arrival we regret that no refund is possible, regardless of the reason for the cancellation. This includes illness, quarantine, or local or state restrictions on travel from your home destination for the dates of your planned stay.  However, you are welcome to send another party of the same size in your place.

With weather and air travel creating travel delays from time to time, if your arrival is delayed we will work with you to adjust your stay to make up for the lost time at the ranch.

Rules & Regulations

The ranch is open for the dude ranch season from June through late-October and as a winter ranch from mid-December to late-March. We close down in the spring and fall as those times are fondly referred to as “mud season” here in Colorado.

Adult-Only Stays: August 21-October 23 2022 (specific dates change each year).

There are no phones in the accommodations. The guest phone is located in the Main Lodge. There are some spots on the ranch where you can get cell service, but it is spotty. Remember, this is your excuse to actually be on vacation!

We do have wireless internet access in the Main Lodge if you bring your laptop. There is also a guest computer available in the Great Room if you just need to check in once or twice during your stay.

Our wonderful housekeepers will do laundry for you if your jeans start walking on their own. There is a laundry bag in your accommodation, so just leave what you want washed in the morning and they’ll have it back by the next morning, if not earlier. There is a minimal charge ($2/pound) for this service.

At Vista Verde, we pride ourselves in our fabulous Kids program. If your kids aren’t happy, you’re not happy, so we put a lot of effort, thought and resources into making their stay extra special. The focus of our program is for families with children 6 years and up. Please do call if you have younger ones and want to know when or if it can work to come to the ranch.

As much as we love animals, we can not allow pets to come stay at the ranch. We have several here who don’t like to share their home, but do love to have your attention when you are here! If you have a service animal please contact us for our service animal policy.
