Located on the eastern side of the Sacramento Mts. in beautiful SE New Mexico sits the beautiful Camp Rio, formerly Camp at Cloudcroft RV Park. Surrounded by thousands of acres of the Lincoln National Forest - laced with small villages, picturesque roads, riding, hiking, and walking trails. Take in the nature with small valleys, surrounding mountains, racing streams, wildlife, birds, mountain glens, and many available outdoor activities. Visit the quaint surrounding towns to check out the scheduled activities such as arts and craft fairs, car shows, bluegrass festivals, dog shows, and Lumber Jack days. With so much to offer, you are bound to have a wonderful getaway when you visit Camp Rio!

Mountain Cabin

Relax high above it all with numerous comforts. The amenities begin outside before you even walk in the door. Take a left and hot tub under the stars, or take a right and be on your own private deck with mountain views, gas grill and gas fire pit accompany incredible mountain and starry night views. Once inside, through the mud and laundry rooms, open up into a spacious living room with sofas and a large spacious kitchen large enough to feature an island, appliances, dishes and plenty of storage to have everything you need. As we no longer have satellite TV service, please bring your own streaming device such as a Firestick or Roku etc. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms help everyone spread out as well. 1st bedroom has a king bed, a bunkbed layout with a queen/ full and twin top with a closet large enough to easily fit everyone's clothes. The second bedroom features a queen bed, large closet and private bathroom. Wonderful place to come and make your base camp. Cleaning fee $75. Pets are NOT allowed in this site.

Wall Tent

"The Wall Tent" Glamping at it's finest. Strategically placed near The Rio Penasco River and across from the outdoor stage allows for a VIP box seat at the concert events. Otherwise you are at the edge of the park away from everyone with an amazing view of mountains and a meadow that would make any bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch proud to boast for an image of serene peaceful beauty. The Wall Tent allows you to have a spacious outdoor area, dedicated parking, outdoor fire pit, grill, kitchen area and seating. Inside are 4 beds, a space heather and fan to help "rough it". 4 beds inside make this an easy place to stay in while you are out adventuring without the difficulty of setting up your own tent, taking it down and traveling with limited space. We even have electric blankets inside to help fight off chilly weather, definitely a unique experience. Cleaning fee is $35. Pets are NOT allowed in this site.

Deluxe Riverside Primitive Site

Welcome to a wonderful place to dome tent. We have 4 options to accommodate your preference. Our 5 sites along The Rio Penasco River are covered by trees, shady and fantastic. These are set upon your arrival, meaning, the first tent campers who show up, move to the end away from the bridge and then move back accordingly. These are primitive sites with fire pits, a raised cliff behind your site and the river in front of your site. All sites have access to our 2 and 1/2 bathroom/shower facilities. More than 4 can stay in your tent, $5 per person extra to apply. Please talk with management to see if you plan on bringing more than one tent to check to see if everything will fit on one site. Should you be interested in the Freedom Camping option, we allow guests to upgrade depending on availability to one of our glamping sites for use of an outdoor kitchen for $45. (Price includes, $10 premium tent upgrade and $10 cleaning fee for dishes. Price does not include the inside of the glamping units) Should you have a large group/ family event we will do our best to make sure you are by the ones you are here with..... unless you don't want to be. Sites come with daily use of the pavilion unless it is booked by a private group event. All tent sites are pet friendly, please have your pet on a leash while outside in the park for respect and safety of others and pick up after them.

Family Cabin

Relax high in a perfect little family get away! located on the lower level of the park with incredible mountain views and private porch make this an excellent option for a get away. A Queen bed and sofa sleeper allow for 4 to sleep easily with floor space for an air mattress should a family there be a need for another bed. Spacious kitchen greets you as you walk in to the left and comfortable living room with TV is the center of the cabin. As we no longer have satellite TV service, please bring your own streaming device such as a Firestick or Roku etc. The Master bedroom hosts the bathroom, generous closet and Queen bed. Dedicated parking and a shared hot tub access with the Cozy cabin make this a superb place to stay. Cleaning fee $45. Pets are NOT allowed in this site.

Tear Drop

Interested in the Teardrop? This is an excellent spot for two or if you are riding alone. Nestled up the mountain between the Gypsy Village and the Yurt, this is in a pretty secluded setting from the other RV and tent camping sites. The Teardrop has a rear pop up kitchen, picnic table, fire pit and dedicated parking. An excellent place to hide away and relax. Cleaning fee is $25. Pets are NOT allowed in this site.

Small kitchenette greets you as you walk in and a shower tub combo in in the bathroom to help wash stress away. Dedicated parking and a shared hot tub access with the Family cabin make this a superb place to stay. Cleaning fee $35. Pets are NOT allowed in this site.

Gypsy Wagon

Outstanding Glamping place to stay and relax in a serene New Mexico Mountain setting. The Gypsy Village consists of an outdoor kitchen, fire pit and area to lounge and relax. Fun fact, it was relaxing in the Gypsy Village watching Deer is where owner Clay was when he decided to buy the park..... Cleaning fee is $30 We also allow guests who are wanting to enjoy tent camping to upgrade to freedom camping on our Glamping Site accommodations. How does that work? Pay the Freedom Camping fee of $35 a $10 cleaning fee if you want to use the outdoor kitchen amenities. Cleaning fee will apply to the use of kitchen and dishes. No dishes/ kitchen use, no cleaning fee. Pets are NOT allowed in this site.

As excited as we are for you to join us, we do understand that cancellations do sometimes occur. If you do need to cancel your reservation, please be aware of the following policies. 

Cancellations made 14 days or more prior to arrival date will receive a full refund minus a $10 fee.  

Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to arrival date will receive a full refund minus a one night stay.
