There has never been a better time to check out the natural beauty Skokomish Park at Lake Cushman has to offer. Formerly known as Camp Cushman or Lake Cushman State Park, the property has over 500 acres with three boat-launch ramps on the 41,500 feet of freshwater shoreline on Lake Cushman. The natural beauty of the area can be explored on any of the trails that are also mountain bike friendly. The eastern part of the Olympic Peninsula has loads of great trails in the Olympic National Park.

Park facilities include camp sites, RV pull-thru and back-in site, walk-in campsites and two group camping areas. Plus, two fantastic day use areas with picnic sites, a picnic shelter, and comfort stations located throughout the park.

Trailheads nearby include Big Creek, Mount Rose, Mount Ellinor, Dry Creek, Copper Creek, Wagonwheel Lake, Staircase Rapids, Big Log Camp and Flapjack Lakes. Mount Ellinor trail is rated 5 stars by many.

A refund of the first night's deposit will be made if we receive your cancellation at least 8 days prior to your scheduled arrival date (less the $8.00 processing fee). Cancellations with 7 days or less notice are subject to forfeiture of the first night deposit plus the processing fee. For same day cancellation or reservation 'no show' your credit card will be charged 50% of the total reservation cost for all nights reserved.

Rules & regulations

RESERVATIONS

All reservations and pass sales are final.

All campsites are by reservation only on a first-come, first-served basis. Vacant campsites can only be held with a reservation. 

Maximum occupancy is 8 people and two vehicles per site. If your party exceeds this number you will be required to purchase camping at an additional site. All vehicles must be parked on the asphalt within the site.  

Additional parking is available with the purchase of a parking pass. Extra vehicles may only park in the designated overflow parking areas.

The maximum reservation length is 14 consecutive days.

Check‐out is 11:00 am and check‐in begins at 3:00 pm.

All visitors must display the hanging visitor/rules pass from the rearview mirror. Failure to do so may result in vehicle towing at the owners' expense.

A $8.00 non‐refundable processing fee will apply to each reservation.

Discounts, coupons, and other promotions may not be used in combination; coupons/promotions may not be reproduced or tampered with. Management reserves all rights.

A deposit of the first night's site fee is required to make your reservation.

Same day cancellation or reservation ‘no show ‘ are subject to forfeiture of 50% of the total reservation cost for all nights reserved.  

Your reservation will be considered a no‐show and your credit card charged for 50% of your total reservation cost (for all nights reserved) if you are not occupying your campsite by midnight of the first reserved date; and if you have not made prior arrangements by phone or email with the campground.  

GENERAL

Quiet hours are 10:00pm to 8:00am. Additionally please refrain from operating engine‐driven electrical generators between 9:00pm to 8:00am.

Boat launch and picnic facilities close at 9 pm. Those camping guests with boats remaining in the boat launch area must register at the visitor center. The pass once issued must be displayed either on the boat or trailer while parked in the launch area.

Drivers shall obey all traffic laws, signs, and posted speed limits (speed in camp is 5mph). Park only in designated parking areas and the provided asphalt parking pads. The operation of off‐road vehicles (motorcycle, quad, ATV, etc.) in the camp is prohibited. 

Visitors, family members, and guests will conduct themselves in a respectful and orderly manner. Failure to abide by camp rules, staff direction, and/or applicable laws may result in being asked to leave in addition to any charges or penalties incurred due to these infractions.

Alcoholic beverages are permitted only in the designated campsite and picnic areas. Public intoxication, disorderly conduct or distribution to minors will not be tolerated.

The use, sales, or distribution of illegal or controlled substances (drugs) is expressly forbidden.

Pets must be under physical control at all times on a leash no more than eight feet long. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and disposing of pet waste in trash receptacles. Pets are not permitted on designated swimming beaches.

Fire arms (including AirSoft, paintball, BB gun, or other projectile weapons) are prohibited.

The use of fireworks or other explosives is prohibited.

Smoking is prohibited in all buildings. Please use ashtrays provided when extinguishing your cigarette.

Skokomish Park, Skokomish Indian Tribal Enterprises, and Skokomish Indian Tribe are not responsible for any potential or real damages including theft, damages, property loss, injury, or death that could occur during your stay.

Skokomish Park reserves the right to refuse service to visitors who do not abide by park rules. 

All park buildings, signs, tables, and other structures are protected; removal or damage of any kind is prohibited.

CAMPING & HIKING

Please use the trash cans and dumpsters to help keep the park clean.  

Please do not harm wild plants or animals. Feeding wildlife is strictly prohibited. 

Camp only in designated campsites on durable surfaces to minimize the impact to flora and fauna.

Hike only on marked durable surface trails. Trails blocked by fencing, brush piles, or logs have been decommissioned to allow nature to recover.

Only build fires in designated fire structures (fire rings & grills) using firewood from local sources. Wood gathering within the park is not allowed. Fires must be attended at all times and fully extinguished before leaving your campsite. Campfires may be prohibited due to high fire danger at certain times of the year. 

No hunting or gathering activities are allowed.  

Leave natural, historical, and archeological items in place. Collecting natural or archeological objects, or removing, defacing, or destroying any plant, animal, or mineral is prohibited.

SWIMMING & BOATING

All activities are at the visitor’s own risk. No lifeguard is present in the swimming areas. 

Glass bottles or metal cans are not allowed on swimming beaches.  

As the lake levels vary from day to day and many stumps lay just below the surface, no diving, jumping or rope swinging is permitted. 

All boaters/personal watercraft operators must obey local ordinances and laws regarding licensing, operating hours, speeds, wake size and ski towing requirements. Failure to do so may result in fines and penalties from local law enforcement.

Boaters/personal watercraft operators must abide by all channel markers, buoys, float lines, and other marking devices. Mooring to these devices, private docks, and piers is prohibited. 

All anglers must possess a valid Washington state fishing license and be knowledgeable of the catch policy for Lake Cushman. No fishing is allowed at the boat launch or swimming area.
