Like Big Bend Park, Oxbow is also located on the Big Muskegon River near the Hardy Dam. The Park features water front access for boating, fishing, swimming, waterskiing. We offer docks, showers, water, and electricity, sewage disposal, playgrounds, and picnic areas. The brilliant fall colors with the blue waters are a breathtaking site. Both parks have cabins, playgrounds, a beach, docks, bathhouses, pavilion and a dump station. And, we're open all year long, too!

Cabins

The cabins sleep 5 or 6 and have a small refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave and a small table and chairs. Outside there is a water spigot along with a picnic table and fire ring. The cabins also have a beautiful view of Hardy Dam. There is a 2 day minimum; 3 day minimum for holiday and special event weekends.

Park Policy

Holidays - Must give 21 days’ notice or more to receive full refund minus $25 cancellation fee. If less than 21 days, there is no refund.

Non-Holiday - Must give 10 days’ notice or more to receive full refund minus $25 cancellation fee. If less than 10 days, you will receive full refund minus first two nights stay plus $25 cancellation fee.

Rules & Regulations

We wish you an enjoyable camping experience whether it’s your first time or 100th. Any infraction of our rules shall be cause for immediate cancellation of your camping permit, day pass or season pass. Without further notice the immediate removal of the camping unit and the forfeiture of all fees paid. This determination will be made by the Parks Director and/or Parks Commission.

Smoking is prohibited in all park buildings!

1. One (1) camping unit per site. Vehicles must display a pass or park sticker; one vehicle pass is included in the cost of camping. Park on registered lot or in visitor parking only. Lot posts must remain in the ground and no digging.

2. Campfires must be in designated fire ring, always attended and extinguished by 2 A.M. No burning of diapers, tin, glass, plastic, etc.

3. Two (2) pet limit per lot. No aggressive pets allowed. Excessive barking not allowed. Pets must remain on a visible leash no longer than 6 feet when outside your unit. Pets must not enter beach area, bathrooms, and bathhouses or left unattended at any time. Handler must be able to always control pets. Owners must clean up after their pets(s). After two (2) animal violations, camping privileges will be revoked.

4. Registered campers are responsible for their guests conduct. No more than eight persons shall occupy a site. Parents are held responsible for the action of their children. Children under the age of eight (8) must be always adult supervised. Guest under the age of eighteen (18) must remain on their lot from 11 P.M. – 7 A.M. unless accompanied by an adult. No biking after dark.

5. Beach, picnic areas, and playground areas are closed from dusk to dawn. NO lifeguard on duty at any time, on any day.

6. Visitors must leave park by 11 P.M. or purchase and display an overnight pass if staying with a guest.

7. Disorderly conduct including but not limited to violence, obscenity, vulgarity, intoxication, or disturbance of peace is prohibited. Quiet time is reserved from 11 P.M. – 7 A.M.

This rule is enforced, and you will only be asked once to quiet down – if you do not adhere you will be evicted and banned from our parks.

8. Check-in time is 1P.M. Check-out time is 11 A.M.

9. Absolutely No Fireworks are allowed in the park! Sparklers allowed with adult supervision.

10. Dumpsters provided for “while camping trash” only. Please keep your site clean.

11. Seasonal and Tri-Weekly patrons pay for their own electric usage @ current posted rate.

12. Big Prairie Township Parks Commission reserves the right to interpret and enforce park rules at their discretion.
