Osa Trail campsite rests on a secluded hilltop bordering Sundown Wild Forest with SPECTACULAR VIEWS of hills and valleys. Campers can see all the way to The Berkshires on clear days. At night, it's the Milky Way, so bring your telescope. There is a beautiful "secret" mountain stream waterhole within a 7-minute walk from the tent, and countless hiking trails in nearby Minnewaska State Park, only 20 minutes away. Come savor the tranquility.
Right along the driveway leading to the campsite there is a shale outcrop, full of fossils, mostly prehistoric leaves and branches, but also occasional Brachiopods - yours for the taking. Bring your cold chisel and a mallet.
This campsite is equipped with one Queen-sized bed with a memory foam mattress! For the winter our floor is insulated with rubber mats to cut down on drafts.
Good cell reception at the campsite.
No poison ivy anywhere on the property.
