Let us tell you more

Mujeres Valley Fairgrounds dedicates all its works to creating a safe and welcoming space and community for all people of color. Our secluded area of Cibola County has a limited number of BIPOC safe spaces, and MVF prides ourselves on being one of the first! We are located within 10 miles of the Continental Divide. Most of the divide runs along the rest of the Rocky Mountains, through British Columbia and along the British Columbia-Alberta border in Canada, and through the states of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico!

MVF is a 20-acre sustainable & cannabis-friendly campground that is tucked up against large private properties owned by the owners and Bureau of Land Management land. There are open spaces, private spaces and community spaces available on the grounds with walkways outlined in ancient trees and volcanic rocks. The property is filled with amazing finds like pottery, crystals and volcanic rock mounds that lift you to some of the most beautiful views of the surrounding areas! This area is a remote subdivision with plenty of open land to set up a tent or small camper, enjoy hiking on our private mountain and experience nature all around you.

Rules & regulations

Rocks, artifacts, finds, etc. shall not be removed from the campground.

General mutual respect for the land, owners, and other visitors is required.

No rituals or ceremonies without approval in advance of stay.

Reservations required at least 48 hours in advance.

Pets shall be on a leash and picked up after.

Trash created on the property shall be removed by visitors as best as possible.

Limited cell phone services are available in select areas on the campground. If you are arriving to the campground from Grants, NM the last place you will have strong cell service is at La Ventana. The carrier that provides the best cell service is T-Mobile. Once you're on the campground you will have the option to connect to our private wi-fi service for an additional fee.

We do not have running (plumbed) water, this is considered "dry camping". However, the owners do provide fresh water from the homestead well. This water has tested at a CLEAN 7.3pH. Please make sure you communicate the need for water prior to arriving for your scheduled visit. Water will need to be collected in camper or campers' own containers. We do have 10-gallon BPA free jugs available to be rented or purchased.

We ask that waste be collected and removed by campers or disposed of in one of the collection stations we can provide. If your stay is longer than 1 night we ask that you determine the long-term disposal area when you check-in. We ask that solid waste not be left anywhere on the ground, hanging from trees, etc. and placed only in designated collection receptacles.

Personal grills and fires are not allowed but if you are bringing your own RV, camper or van that is set up to cook you're welcome to cook in your structure. Firewood provided, firepit, communal. Firewood will be cut, collected & stacked for campers and used in designated fire rings or in a travel bbq pit when statewide fire bans are lifted. Please do not burn piles of wood in the parking lot, driveway, outside your camper or on any roads, designated and safe areas only. You are welcome to collect fallen leaves & dead plants as a starter but please be mindful of the possibility of high winds in the area. Light responsibly.

Pets are definitely allowed! We do ask that you use discretion when walking your pets off the leash. The campground does not have a full fence and we are surrounded by residential neighbors. Additionally, there are wild animals in this area. Please use extra caution when bringing your small animals.

The owners believe the cannabis plant to be a sacred and medicinal herb. We welcome the safe usage of cannabis on the campground.

There are no cabins for rent on the Mujeres Valley Campground, currently the campground is raw (this means there are no structures on the property).
