Monty's Bay Campsites was established as a sole proprietorship by Gerard and Sally Bechard in 1963. Today there are 125 campsites, a picnic area, convenience store, laundry facilities, activity center, bath house and a swimming pool. In 1991 Gilbert Brook Marina was added. The marina has 168 boat slips, 102 boat moorings and a boat ramp.
Monty's Bay Campsites is located on Lake Champlain, 12 miles south of the U.S.-Canadian border, and 8 miles north of Plattsburgh, New York. Monty's Bay Campsites' location at the center of Monty bay offers 1/4 mile of shoreline and panoramic views of the surrounding New York and Vermont shorelines and mountains. Our season extends from May 1st to October 1st. Monty's Bay Campsites is only 4 miles from exit 40 on Interstate 87, and is a mere 15 minute drive from Plattsburgh for a variety of retail shopping, restaurants, and other conveniences.

Policies
Please provide 24 notice for cancellations. Cancellations inside 24 hours will be charged a cancellation fee equal to one night's rates.
All visitors entering the property must use the main entrance, register at the office first, obtain a visitor's pass, and then proceed to parking area, no matter what length of stay. Visitor fee is $5 for each visitor, per 24 period. Customers will be accountable for the actions of their guests.
All vehicles, boats, boat trailers, golf carts, etc...must have the customers pass or identification with name and location visible. We will be strictly enforcing the parking rules. Customers will receive parking violation fees that will be added to their account.
Parents will be held accountable for the actions of their children. Children should not be left unsupervised on the property. All children must be supervised when using pool and playground facilities.
Laundry facilities are available during posted office hours. Last wash must be started 1 hour before office closing. Change for washers and dryers is available in office.
Quiet hours are 11pm-9am.
No one should cut or remove trees or greenery at any time. No ropes on trees. No burning of leaves.
There is a limit of 2 dogs allowed per site. Pets are welcome only on a leash. All pet waste must be cleaned up by pet owner. Waste needs to be bagged and disposed of in garbage dumpster. Pets must not be left alone on the property or in vehicles. No pets allowed in swimming area.
Garbage dumpsters are for household garbage only.
Campfires are permitted within fire rings only. Firewood is available for sale at the office.
Speed limit is 5 MPH.
No recreational vehicles such as 2 wheelers, 4 wheelers, mini bikes, etc... are permitted on the property at any time. Golf carts are allowed so long as they are not loud, nor ridden in a manner to create a nuisance. Golf cart drivers must be 16 years or older and have a valid drivers license.
Absolutely no fishing is allowed on docks. This include dingy docks and along the shore area in front of moorings.
Campsites are designated to accommodate one family: 2 adults and their children less than 18 years of age. Only one camping unit allowed on each site. No tents allowed on your campsite unless you pay the $40 night tent fee.
Use the pool at your own risk. All users must sign in at the office before entering the pool area. Children under 16 years of age must be supervised. No food or beverages allowed in pool area. No diving.
