SAFETY, RULES, AND REGULATIONS

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES - Maine State law prohibits anyone under the age of 21 to possess or consume alcoholic beverages or anyone to furnish alcoholic beverages to anyone under the age of 21.

BICYCLES - State of Maine Law requires that children under the age of 16 years old age must wear a helmet. We want to keep all children safe, so please make sure your children obey this rule. Bicycles will not be ridden after dark, or on foot paths, beaches, docks, or into the water or buildings. Please ride at a reasonable speed.

CHILDREN - No one under the age of 21 is allowed to camp or be left without adult supervision. Children under 18 must be on a site and under adult supervision after 10 pm. NO "POWER WHEELS" or powered recreation vehicles allowed.

CIGARETTE SMOKERS - Please do not drop cigarette butts on the ground. Discarding of butts should be done in a neat and safe manner. Either burn them or discard them in the trash. Please do not smoke in our restrooms, store, rec hall, on our store decks, beaches, basketball court or playground.

FIREWORKS, FIREARMS, OTHER WEAPONS, AND ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES ARE PROHIBITED ON CAMPGROUND PROPERTY

PROFANITY - Explicit behavior or inappropriate language by children or adults will not be tolerated. This will result in expulsion without refund.

QUIET HOURS - Will be observed Sunday-Wednesday from 10pm - 8am, Thursday-Saturday and Holidays from 11pm - 8am. Nightly patrol will ensure compliance with this rule. Anyone that does not comply with this rule will be asked to leave. Please no radios or TVs on outside during quiet hours.

VEHICLES - The speed limit in the campground is 5 MPH. There is a limit of two (2) vehicles per site and any additional vehicles must be parked in the designated parking area. Parking on adjacent sites is not allowed. Please watch for children at all times. No golf carts or motorized vehicles or equipment of any kind are allowed on campground property. NO CHARGING OF ELECTRICAL VEHICLES AT YOUR SITE OR ANY PLACE IN THE CAMPGROUND.

CAMPFIRES - Must be kept small and within the fire pit provided by the campground. Do not leave your campsite or go to bed with a fire still burning. We ask that you put your fire out no later than 1:00 am and do not start a fire before 7:00 am. Don't move firewood: "Buy where you burn." This prevents the spread of insects, etc. from one location or state to another. Firewood is sold at the Campground store. Do not burn large logs in the fire pits. Please do not burn pressure treated lumber, lumber with nails or screws, or lumber that has been painted.

• PLEASE BE SURE YOUR CAMPFIRE IS EXTINGUISHED COMPLETELY BEFORE YOU LEAVE!

• NO CUTTING OR DISFIGURING ANY TREES.

• DO NOT DUMP CHARCOAL OR ASHES IN THE WOODS.

CAMPSITES - Campsites are rented to one family consisting of two adults and their children (under the age of 18). Extra adults or children over the age of 8-years of age will be charged a fee. Two families sharing one site, each using their own camping equipment (tents, trailer, RV, etc.), will both be charged the full site fee. Only two vehicles will be allowed per site. Each additional vehicle must be parked in the designated overflow parking area. Sites are allowed either one (1) tent and one (1) RV/trailer OR two (2) tents.

CHECK-IN - CAMPSITES - We offer the option to check-in online and go right to your site. Information on this will be sent to you three (3) days prior to your stay. Check-in is from 1 pm till 8 pm. If you will be arriving after 8 pm, please call the Store by 8 pm to notify and check-in over the phone. Pop-up/tent trailers and tents cannot set up after 10 pm. Every other type of unit cannot set up after 11 pm. If you would like to check-in before 1 pm, please call the Store to see if your site is available. If it is, you may check in early for a fee of $25.00.

CHECK-IN – RENTAL UNITS - We offer the option to check-in online and go right to your site. Information on this will be sent to you three (3) days prior to your stay. Check-in for our rental units begins at 4 pm. If you would like to check-in before 4 pm, please call the Store to see if your rental is available. If it is, you may check in early for a fee of $50.00.

CHECK-OUT - Check-out is at 11 am for campsites and rental units. If you would like to stay for the remainder of the day, you may do so for a fee of $25.00. However, you must still vacate the site at 11:00am and park in the overflow area by 11:00am, if the site is to be occupied by another camper. You must leave the campground no later than 5:00pm.

DEPOSITS AND FUTURE RESERVATIONS - A 50% deposit is due at time of reservation. If you purchase travel protection you will be required to pay 100% of the reservation. We accept, cash, check, Mastercard, Visa, Discover Card and American Express. Reservations for 2023 are open beginning May 15, 2022, and reservations for 2024 will be open May 15, 2023. All reservations will be on first come/call first serve basis. If you reserve more than one campsite, you are responsible for the deposit for each family for which you have reserved a site or sites.

GATE & GATE CARDS - Loon’s Haven Family Campground is a secure community, operating a card-controlled gate system. A gate card is required to enter the park by vehicle on your own and one (1) gate card is provided at check-in. Additional cards are available if required. Should the card not be returned at check-out a $60 charge will be made to the credit card on file.

The electronic gate system to enter our campground is powered by a sensor that is activated by your gate card. Once the gate is lifted it remains up until your car has passed through. Only one car/truck, one car/truck towing a trailer/pop-up/5th wheel, one motorcycle can pass through the gate at one time. If you attempt to pass more than 1 vehicle of any type through the gate at one time you are putting yourself and the other party at risk of being harmed. Loon’s Haven Family Campground is not responsible for any harm caused by the electronic gate system to your person or party from the result of your misuse of said electronic gate system.

INCLEMENT WEATHER - Camping is an outdoor experience. Therefore, we do not give refunds due to discomforts or acts of nature or otherwise (example: rain).

PETS - We are a pet friendly campground. Please make sure your pet behaves properly and does not disturb other campers having a quiet family vacation. When registering at the Store you will be required to fill out our pet agreement and please bring a copy their rabies certificate. The rules must be followed, or your pet will be required to leave campground property. Pets must always be leashed, QUIET AT ALL TIMES AND PICKED UP AFTER. Pets are not to be left unattended at any time. Please be sure to have a plastic bag when walking your dog. You must have your pet leashed and under control at all times. Therefore, NO child under the age of 12 is allowed to walk a dog. Management reserves the right to refuse to allow pets on campground property if they feel they are a danger to other campers. No Rottweilers or Pitbulls allowed in the campground. No pets allowed on the beach or in the water.

PETS IN RENTAL UNITS - Pets will be allowed in certain rental units only. Site 10 - Goodridge Glamping Tent, Site 64 - Millay Deluxe Cabin, Site 67 - R.B. Hall Cabin, and Site 68 - Jewett Cabin with an additional fee of $50 and Site 44 - Hartley Lodge with an additional fee of $100.

PRIVACY - Respect the privacy of other campers and do not trespass or cut through their sites. Please make sure your children and guests are aware of this rule.

PURE SPRING WATER - Our well water is great for drinking. It has been tested by the Maine Department of Human Services. We have one well on the property which is over 900 feet deep.

RATES & RESERVATIONS - This is a privately-owned campground; OPEN MAY 15- OCTOBER 15. We reserve the right to select our clientele and guests. Minors under 21 years old are not allowed to camp without a parent or guardian. We encourage payment in full before arrival date as this helps to speed up the check-in process. Once a family has arrived and registered at Loon's Haven Family Campground, refunds will not be granted due to weather or personal reasons.

SEWERAGE/DUMP STATION - The dump station is free to our campers staying at the campground. Anyone wanting to come in and use the dump station will be charged a $40.00 fee. We offer pumping services several times a week for a fee. Emergency pumping is available for an extra fee. Only use RV toilet paper in your RV. For sanitation reasons we do not allow the use of blue tanks "AKA BLUEBERRIES" on campground property to haul gray or black water to our Dump Station. No fluid discharge of any type is allowed to flow into or onto the ground. Please use sinks outside the rest rooms for washing dishes. Absolutely no sewage will be dumped in these sinks. Do not bathe in these sinks.

TRASH - All trash is to be placed in kitchen size trash bags by the edge of the road for pick-up before noon or taken to the dumpster beside the Laundromat. Please do not leave trash out overnight, or for pick-up after noon as animals may get into it. Please do not leave trash in fire pit or burn trash. No large items, chairs, stoves, grills etc. are to be left for trash pick-up or at the dumpsters. Normal household garbage only.

VISITORS - Upon entering the campground all visitors must register and pay the fee BEFORE going to ANY site. Any vehicle found on campground property without a pass or without having checked in at the store will be a violation of the rules and will be asked to leave. Visitors wishing to bring a boat must call ahead for availability. All day visitors must be off the grounds by 5:00 pm. Overnight visitors must be off the grounds by 10:00 am the following day or register at the store and pay the fee for that day. All visitors' vehicles are to be parked on the site they are visiting. Visitors are not allowed to bring pets.

ACTIVITIES AND FACILITIES

ACTIVITIES - Loon’s Haven Family Campground provides activities and themed weekends designed for the young and the young-at-heart. Activities include arts & crafts, games, parties, outdoor movie night, bingo, and more. Holiday events are also planned throughout the season.

BATHROOMS - Bathrooms are cleaned daily. Please pick up after yourself when you exit the bathrooms. Children under 6 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. NO BARE FEET ALLOWED.

BOATS - All boats must be in a boat slip. No motorized boats are to be kept in front of waterfront sites. Power boats must maintain headway speed within 200 feet of swimming areas, boat docks and shoreline.

EQUIPMENT RENTAL - Sports equipment is available for use at the Store. Paddles, life jackets, basketballs, dodge balls, horseshoes, corn hole, and pickleball equipment are just some of the selection.

FISHING - Fishing dock is located across from the path to the Flat’s Bathhouse. No fishing off boat docks or in the swimming area. Fishing from your reserved waterfront site is allowed.

LAUNDROMAT - Available for your convenience. Please leave it neat and clean for the next person. The Store has detergent and dryer sheets. Clean and modern laundromat available with XL capacity washers/dryers. Laundry is coin operated. Please do not wash pet beds or rugs in the machines.

PHOTOGRAPGHS AND VIDEOS - From time-to-time Loon’s Haven Family Campground may take photographs and/or videos of our campers and their visitors, including but not limited to our activities and/or special events, to be used in advertising for the campground. The signing of the Rules and Regulations grants permission to Loon’s Haven Family Campground to use any such photographs and/or videos for internal and external advertising purposes without payment or compensation.

SWIMMING - Swimming is at your own risk and restricted to designated areas only. THERE ARE NO LIFEGUARDS ON DUTY. No one is to swim or play around the boat dock area. No bathing, washing hair or dishes anywhere in Trickey Pond. NO SWIMMING FROM OR IN FRONT OF WATERFRONT SITES. NO SWIMMING AFTER DUSK OR BEFORE DAWN. CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 12 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT WHEN SWIMMING

WI-FI - We offer free basic Wi-Fi throughout the campground. It is hospitality grade and will allow you to do basic internet activities. We make no guarantees to its speed or quality. We also offer a Premium paid Wi-fi subscription that provides streaming capable speeds.

NOTICE TO GUESTS

This property is privately owned. The Camper and/or Guest/s accept camping privileges with the understanding that he or she does hereby release the Campground, its officers and employees of ALL liability for loss or damage to property and injury to his/her use of its facilities, and agrees to indemnify the Campground, its officers and employees, against claims resulting from loss or damage to property or injury to the person of any member of the family or guest/s of the registered camper arising out of use of its facilities.

I have read and agreed to comply with all of Loon's Haven Family Campground rules and regulations as posted in office, website, reservations and/or on the grounds and review them with all guests that I have signed in.

GLAMPING AND RENTAL POLICIESGLAMPING TENT AND RENTAL CABIN CHECK-IN - Check-in starts at 4 pm for our glamping and rental cabin sites. If you would like to check-in before 4 pm, please call the store to see if your site is available. If it is, you may check in early for a fee of $50.

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS - Refunds will be given on reservations canceled at least 14 days prior to arrival and a one (1) night fee will be charged. Within 14 days of arrival no refunds are given for cancellations. No refunds for early departure for any reason. Failure to arrive on arrival date without notification will forfeit your deposit and site.

EXCESSIVE CLEANING - There will be a charge of $50.00 to the card on file if excessive cleaning of the unit is required.

PETS IN RENTAL UNITS - Pets will be allowed in Site 10 - Goodridge Glamping Tent and Site 64 - Millay Deluxe Cabin with an additional fee of $50.

SMOKING - No smoking allowed in the glamping tents or rental cabins.

COVID If you have been exposed to COVID-19 or suspect you may have COVID-19 PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE CAMPGROUND.
