CANCELLATIONS:

- Cancellations 14 days prior to arrival will receive a 50% refund. 1 night stays will not be refunded.

- For cancellations less than 14 days before arrival date, deposit will be forfeited.

- Failure to notify and/or arrive by noon of the day following your scheduled date of arrival will result in a cancellation of reservation, with no refund or credit.

- All Holiday stays are non-refundable and non-transferable- no exceptions.

- All Seasonal reservation payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

- Refunds are not granted for weather conditions, voluntary departure, acts of nature, or evictions.

Rules & regulations

CAMPGROUND POLICIES:

- For the safety of all our guests and visitors we have composed some common policies that we ask all to adhere by. To insure that everyone has a fun and memorable stay.

- Plan to arrive no later than 7:30pm to ensure you are set up and relaxed this will make your stay more enjoyable for both you and your fellow camping neighbors.

- Please be sure anyone staying on your site is aware of our policies. Anyone who fails to follow them will be asked to leave.

Parents are responsible for their children’s behavior, safety and whereabouts during your stay with us.

- Anyone staying with us or visiting and not following our policies we do reserve the right to ask you to leave the campground without any type of refund.

SITE OCCUPANTS:

- 1 camping unit per site. Each is allowed 1 family, including 2 adults and their dependent children 17 and younger.

ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES:

- Check in time: 1:00pm-7:30pm. 3pm for rental units. Late arrivals must be arranged and approved in advance, and are not guaranteed.

- Late arrivals and departures are subject to an additional fee.

- Check out time: 11:00am .

VISITORS:

- All visitors must check in the office.

- There is a $10 visitor fee.

- Up to 4 visitors are allowed per site.

- Visitors are asked to leave by 8pm.

- Visitors must adhere to all campground policies.

CONDUCT:

- Failure to abide by any campground rules will be subject to eviction from the campground without refund.

- Quiet hours are 10:00pm to 8:00am.

- Tobacco use, smoking, vaping or electronic cigarettes are prohibited in any common areas.

- Please keep voices low and lights should be kept at a minimum.

- Excessive noise at any time is not permitted.

- In the event that staff informs a site of quiet hour violation and any site occupant refuses to cooperate, all of the occupants of the site will be subject to eviction from the campground without refund.

- Please report all inappropriate behavior to management.

- No fireworks, firearms, or archery allowed.

- Hunting is not allowed on campground premises.

- Speed limit within the campground is 5mph.

- Unregistered motorized vehicle (i.e., ATVs, mini-bikes, dune buggies, etc.) are not allowed.

- Anyone riding a bike on campground premises must wear a helmet

- Generators are not allowed on Apple Island or during quiet hours. Only very quiet low decimal generators allowed in sites 7-15 from 8am-11am & 4pm-7pm these hours are strictly enforced.

PETS:

- 2 pets are allowed per campsite.

- Pets are to be kept leashed and quiet at all times. Pets shall never be left unattended.

- Please pick up pet droppings immediately and leave your campsite clean.

- Owners will be held responsible for any damage or harm caused by pets.

- If your dog(s) are aggressive, barking, or are left alone, you will be asked to leave the campground with no refund.

FIREWOOD:

- Must be purchased locally.

- It is illegal to bring firewood into the state of Maine (to prevent the spread of insects).

- Fires must always be attended.

- Fires must be completely out and doused with water at the end of the evening or anytime you are away from your site.

- Please observe any fire condition notices posted in the camp store.

- Embers can easily be blown out of the fire pit

- No moving fire pits.

- No burning trash or leaving it trash in fire pits.

- There is a $25 fee for leaving trash, debris, or large logs in a campsite upon leaving

- Do not remove branches or bark from live trees.

- You may collect fallen dead materials.

TRASH:

- Please make use of our on-site Trash and Recycling Center.

- Please sort your returnable bottles and cans.

- Please do not put trash in fire pits.

- $25 Fee for sites left with trash, debris & fires not put out before leaving*

- Please leave your site as you found it. “Leave no trace.”

ELLIS RIVER:

- Swimming is allowed at your own risk. We do not have lifeguards on staff.

- Kayaks, canoes and tubes are allowed again at your own risk

- Fishing is allow with a Maine State fishing license

- Please keep the beach clean. Do not leave any trash or debris.

WEATHER ADVISORIES:

- The lower sites by the river are in a flood plain. In the occurrence of flash flood warnings or torrential down pours, we reserve the right for your safety to move your reservation to another site on higher ground.

POOL:

- The pool opens daily at 10am. The slide turns on at 11am. The slide is not to be used until the slide water is running.

- No unsupervised children are permitted in the pool area.

- Infants and children not toilet-trained must wear barrier swim pants in the pool.

- All pool users must shower before entering the pool.

- Do not use the pool if you are ill or experiencing symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, or open wounds.

- No food or drinks are permitted in the pool. Glass is not allowed on the patio. Plastic containers are allowed.

- No loud music.

- No nose-blowing, spitting, spouting water, urinating, or defecating in the pool. The nearest bathroom is located next to the pavilion.

- No animals are permitted on the pool deck.

- Swimmers must wear appropriate swimming attire.

- No running, pushing, or horseplay.

- No large floats or tubes. Pool noodles are acceptable.

- No diving.

- No smoking in the pool or patio area.

- The slide weight limit is 350 lbs.

- One person is allowed on the slide at a time. Slide users must sit and go feet-first down the slide.

- To exit the deep end, use the pool ladder or swim to the shallow end.

- The bench is for sitting on. It is not a step to exit the pool.

- No lifeguard is on duty. Swim at your own risk.

- Guests who do not follow the rules may be asked to leave at any time.

Lone Mountain is happy to welcome guests who would like to camp with their horses. We have direct access from the campground to miles of some of the best equestrian trails that Maine has to offer. There is a designated area in the campground for our guests with horses, with plenty of room for grazing and your fencing and other must-have equipment.

Camping with Horses

We offer camping for both individuals and groups.

Sites 12, 13, 14, and 15 are best suited to setup camp with your horse.

A $20.00 fee for each horse per night in addition to the cost of the campsite.

There is access to water and a designated area for manure.

Guests are responsible for bringing your own provisions for your stay. Please bring with you:

Portable fencing

Equipment and food needed for your horse

Tools to clean up after your horse

A copy of Coggins test report 3 yrs in state / 12 mo out of state.

Lone Mountain is happy to welcome guests who would like to camp with their ATVs. We have direct access from the campground to one of the best ATV trail networks that Maine has to offer. We offer camping for both individuals and groups. Maps to the area’s trails are available in the office

Camping with your ATV

For the comfort and safety we ask all guest and visitors to obey the following policies.

First common sense and respect for fellow guests and neighbors.

MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT 5MPH idle speed at all times from campsite to trail

Everyone must follow the Maine State Laws & Regulations when operating an ATV, UTV and 4-wheelers on campground and trail properties. https://www.maine.gov/ifw/atv/laws-rules.html

Be aware some the trails are shared with the our fellow horse riders

When approaching horse riders please pull over and let them safely pass by.

Persons 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. If driving the person has to have successfully completed the State of Maine training course and be accompanied by an adult.

All ATV owners and riders will accept responsibility for any injuries, accidents and or property damage. This includes campground property and trail system property.

There is no riding on state routes – this could result in Lone Mountain Campground loosing the trail access from the campground.

Always stay on marked trails and follow the signs and barriers. A lot of the trails run through private properties it imperative you follow the rules or it could cause a loss of access of the trail.

No wheel spinning, brake sliding or side winding. This causes damage and gauges and ruts the trail.

Follow all signs and respect all boundaries.

Drive responsibly, in groups if possible.

Always what you carry in your carry out – do not litter and please pick up any trash you may see out of courtesy for all people and wildlife!

Noise respect – no overly loud machines, no revving of engines and no unnecessary idling of machines.

No ATV riding during quiet hours.
