The Lock & Dam Regional Park at Coosa River Campground in Rome, Georgia is a 73-acre park listed on the National Register of Historic Landmarks. The Mayo Lock and Dam was completed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1913 and taken out of service in 1941.
The Park is located on the Coosa River south of Rome, Georgia and offers some of the best crappie and striper fishing in North Georgia as well as birdwatching. Also adjoining the Park property is an additional 127 acres known as the Coosa Nature Preserve. The preserve is owned by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and managed by Rome Floyd Parks & Recreation.
The park is prepared for both RV and primitive tent camping. Select sites feature direct sewer hook-up, river views, picnic pavilions and shelter, fire rings, restroom, shower and laundry facilities, fishing and nature trails. Other amenities include horseshoe pits, open play areas and an observation overlook.

Policies
If you choose to make a reservation, a non-refundable reservation fee of $6.00 for campsites will be including in the total payable fees. Your credit card account will be charged at the time that the reservation is made. Please allow up to 24 hours for your reservation to be confirmed.
If you cancel your reservation, you will be assessed fees. The closer to your arrival date you cancel, the less money you will be refunded.
Cancelling 15 days or more prior to arrival – Reservations fee $6.00 + Cancellation Fee $10 is applied. The use fees are refunded.
Cancelling 14 days or less prior to arrival – Reservation Fee $6.00 + Cancellation Fee $10.00 + the use fee of the first night’s stay is applied. The remainder is refunded.
Rules & regulations
Our policy is that of a campground rather than a long-term RV park. Any reservations over fourteen (14) days must be approved by the Special Services Manager at Rome-Floyd County Parks & Recreation.
Check in time is between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Check out time for all campers is 11:00 a.m.
The gate closes between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.
If you plan to arrive after 9 p.m., please make arrangements.
Quiet time is from 10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
Glass containers are not permitted.
Fireworks and other explosives are not permitted.
Campfires are allowed in fire rings only.
Children must be supervised at all times.
The bathhouse is for registered guests only.
Our washers and dryers do accept quarters. Please come prepared with quarters if you intend to do laundry.
Do not carve, chop or cut any trees or vegetation.
Trash must be placed in the dumpster.
All pets must be confined, leashed, or otherwise under the physical control of a person at all times. Pets must be well-behaved at all times. In campgrounds, pets must be confined in the owner's camping unit during designated quiet time hours, 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. At other times, pets may be left unattended on the owner's campsite for no more than 30 minutes and must be leashed. Pet owners are required to pick up after their pets and properly dispose of all pet droppings in trash receptacles. Pets that are noisy, vicious, dangerous, disturbing or intimidating to other persons or pets, or which damage park resources, are considered to be nuisances and will not be permitted to remain in the park. Service animals are welcome in all areas of the park where visitors are normally allowed.

To protect Park resources, campsite occupancy is limited to the site you have paid for. Any vehicles or boats illegally parked will be towed at the expense of the guest. This includes any vehicles or boats parked in the grass or any other area that is not designated as a parking space or a camp site.
