DCNR assesses a non-refundable $10.00 fee per reservation for all changes made to a reservation, except for adding nights to the reservation.

The department will not refund this fee in the event of a change or cancellation in any situation.

DCNR cannot grant any exceptions because this fee is a pass-through cost incurred by the department for the reservation system.

Please note that customers with reservations made at the maximum window (11 months to the day), or with a departure date after the maximum booking window, are not permitted to move or cancel their reservation for 22 days.

After 22 days, customers can change or move their reservation for a $10.00 transfer fee.

Rules & regulations

Hunting woodchucks, also known as groundhogs, is prohibited. Dog training is only permitted from the day following Labor Day through March 31 in designated hunting areas. DCNR and the Pennsylvania Game Commission rules and regulations apply. Use extreme caution with firearms at all times. Other visitors use the park during hunting seasons. Firearms and archery equipment used for hunting may be uncased and ready for use only in authorized hunting areas during hunting seasons. In areas not open to hunting or during non-hunting seasons, firearms and archery equipment shall be kept in the owner's vehicle or enclosed trailer. Exceptions include law enforcement officers and individuals with a valid Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms are authorized to carry a firearm concealed on their person while they are within a state park.

Fishing is available to those visitors who wish to make the long, steep hike down to Pine Creek. Along Turkey Path Trail is the trout stream Four-Mile Run. Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission regulations and laws apply.

Picnic tables (seven of which are covered), charcoal grills, restrooms, drinking water, and trash bins are available. Schloder Pavilion can be reserved for a fee. If unreserved, the pavilion is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The campground is open from the second Friday in April until the last weekend in October. Picnic tables, fire rings, showers, flush toilets, and a sanitary dump station are provided.

Firewood Alert: Bringing firewood into Pennsylvania is prohibited and could result in a citation. To help protect the forest from invasive insects that can kill trees and devastate the ecosystem, please do not transport firewood over long distances. Firewood can harbor insects such as emerald ash borer. The use of local firewood is strongly recommended. All firewood must be burned prior to your departure.

The spotted lanternfly has invaded our area. This invasive insect could cause serious harm to Pennsylvania's resources, businesses, and economy. LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAVE! Help us stop the spread of these unwelcome hitchhikers. Inspect your vehicle, camper, tent, gear, etc. before you leave the park and destroy any lanternflies you find.

Pets are permitted in:

Because uncontrolled pets may chase wildlife or frighten visitors, pets must be physically controlled and attended at all times and on a leash, caged, or crated. Electronic fences and leashes are prohibited. Temporary fencing and all types of electronic shock collar or monitoring systems do not meet the physical control definition and are therefore prohibited as the primary control method. In addition, pets may not be tied to trees, porches, or anchored to the ground. Pets that are considered vicious, aggressive, or that display hostile behavior, will not be permitted in the park. Pet owners must pick up after their pets and dispose of pet waste properly. Dogs and cats must have current rabies vaccinations. A pet must display a valid license, if required in its home state. Pets must not be left unattended, except when using a restroom or visiting a park building for a brief period of time. When doing so, the pet must be kept in a camping unit or vehicle, weather conditions permitting. Pets may not create a disturbance or nuisance. Excessive barking is a disturbance.
