Hok-Si-La Park is a 252 acre, municipally owned and operated park located on the Minnesota side of Lake Pepin. The park offers spectacular views of the Mississippi River, Lake Pepin, and the surrounding bluffs. Enjoy the park by experiencing tent camping at its best, launch a boat at the public boat ramp, or swim and relax at the sandy beach. Take time to explore the mile long stretch of Mississippi River shoreline, check out the interpretive center, take the kids to the playground, play volleyball or basketball, enjoy a picnic or relax at the chapel. Park buildings, including the dining hall and screened shelters, as well as camping sites, are open mid-April through mid-October. The park is open year-round for an outing with your family, hiking, bird watching or a stroll on the beach. Winter offers groomed cross-country ski trails. Schools, 4-H clubs, family reunions, birthday parties, weddings, company picnics, service organizations, church groups, and outdoor organizations find the park has the space and amenities they desire.

Lakeview Tent Camping

UNIQUE TENT CAMPING With view of Mississippi's Lake Pepin Cars are allowed in for 15 minutes to drop off and pick up gear. Cars are not allowed to stay at campsite. Deposit nonrefundable. We have 6 lakeview campsites that offer tent campers a spectacular view. B7, B8 and B9 look north (up river). N1, N2 and N3 look east (sunrises) and are located above a steep bank overlooking the river with view of WI bluffs. N1, N2 & N3 offer privacy with trees between each site. N sites are not grassy due to shade. Deposits are nonrefundable. Make weekend reservations early for lake view sites. Potable water and outhouses are located throughout the campground. Two modern bathhouses (flush toilets and showers) are located above the swimming beach and attached to events facility. Regular site rates are based on 2 people. All sites can accommodate from 2 to 4 adults (plus children) at added cost. The B sites are larger and can take up to 6 adults plus children. To maintain a serene camping experience for all campers cars are required to park in the parking lots. Access allowed by car twice for 15 minutes each. Once to drop gear off and once to pick gear up at the end of your stay. Rest of the time the car is in the parking areas. This policy allows for an "in the woods" experience. We are a tent only campground. Plus 6 sleeping cabins. Train noises (including whistles) can be heard during the night. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit.

Tent Camping

Regular wooded tent sites. All sites are in the woods but not all offer privacy. Cars are allowed in for 15 minutes to drop off and pick up gear. Cars are not allowed to stay at campsite. Depoist nonrefundable. A1-8 are close to all facities & beach. A9-13 & B1-B6 sites gradually move away from main area to the north. N4-9 sites are secluded & offer privacy as you move to SE corner of park. There are outhouses in the camping area with flush toilets and showers located above beach and attached to hall in main area. Every site has a picnic table and fire pit. Potable water is located throughout the campground. Deposits are nonrefundable. Regular site cost includes 2 campers with added cost for extra adults or children. All regular sites can hold 4 adults + kids. A few can accommodate 6 adults + kids. The cabins are named after river boats that historically plied the Mississippi River/Lake Pepin. Cabin rate is based on 2 people. Tents are not allowed on cabin sites. Deposit is not refundable. Cabin rate is based on 2 people. Each cabin sleeps up to 6 adults/kids. Extra charges after first 2 occupants. (Interior is spacious...footprint is 16 feet by 24 feet.) Two queen beds, two bunk beds and a table with benches. Beds are 80 inches long (adult friendly). ADA accessible with heat and A/C. All cooking needs to be done outside. Tents are not allowed on cabin sites. Each cabin has a fire pit and picnic table plus open porch. No pets inside of cabins. Out house across the road from cabin #3 and modern showers/toilets easy walking distance.

Park Policy

Deposits are non-refundable along with first night of camping.

Rules & Regulations

Check in time and check out time. 2 p.m.

We are a tent only campground.

Firewood policy: We sell cut and split fire wood. 

Only certified wood will be allowed in the park.

Hok-Si-La has a mosquito control program: Call for more information.

Showers are coin operated...(50 cents for 3 minutes).

Train noises (including whistles) can be heard during the night.

Reservations taken up to one year in advance. 

Camping season: Mid-April through Mid-October (weather permitting).

Park and outhouses are open year-round for day use. Bathhouses open Mid April and stay open until mid October (weather permitting).
