The night sky is unspoiled by lights and absolutely stunning! Rock hounds rejoice! The famous Ruggles Mine 4 miles up the road has been purchased. Use Fordy Acres as a base camp to explore that local gem:)A mile from camp the Smith river meanders alongside the northern rail trail, which you can follow all the way to Canada! The local swimming hole is also a short ride, offering a small beach and kayaking opportunities. Ragged Mtn resort and Cardigan Mtn state park are each only 11 miles. Cardigan is a lovely day hike with a rocky peak above the tree line. For our more adventurous campers, feel free to bring mountain bikes, dirt bikes, and atvs. We have some amazing topography and loop trails, with changing views and occasional mud. Dogs absolutely love it here! This place is so special to us, we are looking forward to sharing it with you!
