Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort & Cabins

Standard Cancelation Policy: A reservation may be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the arrival date for a $10 cancellation fee. If a reservation is cancelled within 24 hours of the arrival date, then a one-night cancellation fee is required.

Sturgis Cancelation Policy: A Sturgis Rally reservation may be cancelled up to 15 days prior to the arrival date for a $50 cancellation fee. If cancelled inside the 15 days prior to the arrival date, there is no refund of the deposit taken.

Kool Deadwood Nites Cancelation Policy: A Kool Deadwood Nites reservation may be cancelled up to 15 days prior to the arrival date for a $10 cancellation fee. A reservation cancelled inside the 15 days prior to arrival will be charged for the entire stay.

Check-In: 12:00pm

Check-Out: 10:30am

Late Departures: If a guest has not departed a site by 11:30am, then there will be an additional day charged to the account. Guests may request a later departure for no charge with the front desk staff.

RV Policy: All RV's entering Elkhorn Ridge Resort must be a manufactured RV, fifth wheel, travel trailer, or truck camper. Modified enclosed trailers will not be allowed. The camper must be 20 years or newer to enter the park. There are no size restrictions.

Pet Policy: Guests are not charged for having pets at their RV sites. They can have up to 3 pets. Dogs must be always leashed outside of the RV. If pet waste is left behind, there will be a $50 fine.

Fire Pit Policy: Guests are welcome to bring in their own fire pit. The fire pit must be above ground. We do not allow outside firewood to be burnt on our property. Firewood must be purchased from Elkhorn Ridge. If there is a burn ban in place, it will be posted around the property. Burn Bans would still allow for a charcoal grill and propane grill and/or firepits. Guests are also welcomed to use the community firepits located throughout the park, which are marked on the map with a small fire.

Site Damage & Missing Backflow Preventers: Site damage will be a minimum of $150 or if it is determined to be more by the Maintenance Manager or General Manager. If the site is missing a backflow preventer at checkout, the guest will be charged $15 to replace.

Daily Housekeeping: No Elkhorn Ridge Housekeeping is performed for the RV sites or guests other than the shower houses.

Tents on RV Sites: Sleeping Tents are not allowed on the RV Sites. A shade tent may be erected if the tent is not interfering with other guest in sites adjacent.

Dog Runs: Dog runs are allowed on the RV Sites, but we ask that they are moved every 3 days to prevent the grass from dying and being overrun.

Extra Vehicles, Motorcycles, ATVs, & Golf Carts: We will allow up to 2 vehicles per site. ATV's, Motorcycles, and Golf Carts are permitted at the site, but we ask that guests try to keep them off the grass. This policy is not in effect during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Also, please remember that a guest driving a motorized vehicle must be of the age 18 to operate on premises.

Washing RVs and other motorized vehicles: Guests are not allowed to wash the entire RV/Motorhome at their RV site. A guest may wash the front windshield of a motorhome. If a guest wants the entire RV/Motorhome to be washed, they must call on a wash company to do so.

Elkhorn Ridge Resort Cabin Policies

Check-in: 3:00pm

Check-out: 10:30am

Late Departures: If a guest has not departed a cabin by 11:30am, then there will be an additional day charged to the account. Guests may request a later departure for no charge with the front desk staff.

Pet Policy: For an additional $50 pet fee per pet, a guest may have up to 3 pets ONLY in a pet designated cabin. Those cabins are: Small Cabins 30 & 31; Large Cabins 4, 6, 8, 11, 36, 38, 41, & 44. If a guest has a pet(s) in a non-designated pet cabin, there will be a $100 fine per pet. Pets must be always leashed outside of the cabin.

Fire Pit Policy: Guests are welcome to bring in their own fire pit. The fire pit must be above ground. We do not allow outside firewood to be burnt on our property. Firewood must be purchased from us. If there is a burn ban in place, it will be posted around the property. Burn Bans would still allow for a charcoal grill and propane grill and/or firepits. Guests are also welcomed to use the community firepits located throughout the park, which are marked on the map with a small fire.

Smoking Policy: No smoking is allowed inside of any cabins. If it is determined the cabin has been smoked in, there will be a $150 smoking fine.

Tents at Cabin Sites: Sleeping Tents are not allowed at the cabin site. A shade tent may be erected if the tent is not interfering with other guests in sites adjacent.

Cabin Damage: Cabin damage will be a minimum of $150 or if it is determined to be more by the Maintenance Manager or General Manager.

Daily Housekeeping: Daily light housekeeping will be available in the cabins. The guest must place a magnet on the outside of the cabin door to request housekeeping. Housekeeping will be available from 8:00am - 12:00pm. If a guest determines they need housekeeping outside of these times, they may request items at the front desk.

Occupancy: A large cabin is allowed 8 guests. A small Cabin is allowed 4 guests.

Minimum Stay Requirements (Effective 01/01/2023): A reservation in any cabin must be reserved for a minimum of 2 nights.

Elkhorn Ridge Resort Tent Site Policies

Guests using the Tent sites must park in the designated parking lot to the East of the tent sites. This policy is not in effect during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Also, please remember that a guest driving a motorized vehicle must be of the age 18 to operate on premises.

General Resort Policies

Speed Limit: The Speed Limit in the RV Resort is 10MPH. This includes all motorized vehicles.

Shower Houses: Elkhorn Ridge Resort has two shower houses. North and South. They are both the same. They include 1 Handicap Stahl and 6 regular stalls. Each stall contains a shower, toilet, sink and bench. They are fully private. The North shower house is closed daily from 1:30pm - 2:30pm for cleaning and the south shower house is closed from 2:30pm - 3:30pm daily for cleaning. These shower houses also contain two washers and 2 dryers for laundry in a separate room. These laundry rooms are equipped with quarter machines for the guest’s convenience. There is no code to enter these facilities.

Guest Laundry Facility: The Guest Laundry Room is attached to the maintenance shop on the south end of the park. It is equipped with 5 washers and 5 dryers. This room has a folding counter, chairs, wash basin and sink, and a quarter machine for the guest’s convenience. It is open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Pool Shower House: The pool shower house is located inside the gated pool area. This is divided into men and women. The shower house has a large shower area with 4 showers and toilets stalls. The pool shower house will close with the pool at night.

Wheeled Transportation: All wheeled transportation must stay on the paved roads. Wheeled transportation is not allowed on the sidewalks. If operating a motorized vehicle on our property, such as a golf cart, that individual must be 18 years or older. Bicycles, Scooters, Skateboards, etc. are not allowed on the sidewalks.

Safety and Security: Safety of our guests and staff is a priority. Watch for playing children, follow the speed limit signs and refrain from playing on the statues. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at the pool. There is no lifeguard on duty. We do have security roaming the grounds from 4:00pm - 12:00am Fridays and Saturdays. That company is Badlands Security. In case of emergencies, dial 911 first!

Quiet Hours: Quiet Hours on the resort are from 10pm - 7:30am. For noise complaints after hours, guests may call Spearfish Dispatch at (605) 642-1305. Guests that are refusing to adhere to these quiet hours may be asked to leave.

Propane: To request a time for a propane fill, please coordinate this with the front desk. Propane can be filled between 8am and 3pm Mondays-Fridays, and 10am only on Saturdays.

Shelters: In the case of severe weather, the designated shelters are the north and south shower houses.
