The City Campground is located on two acres of riverfront property on Vaughn Drive. This facility is located on the east-end of Madison, right at the end of our river walk way, providing easy access to the historic downtown district. The campground provides 34 class AA sites with 18 sites bordering the beautiful Ohio River. The grounds are also equipped with a full bathhouse facility and dump station. All sites feature water and 30 amp electrical hook-ups. Ten sites are additionally equipped with 50 amp electrical ports. Located directly on the Ohio River and in the midst of more than 130 blocks of historic down Madison, IN.

About City Of Madison Campground

The City Campground is located on two acres of riverfront property on Vaughn Drive. Policies
Park Policy

  • 8 Days or more notice= Loss of $13.50 fee. ($10 Park’s Cancellation fee/ $3.50 Credit Card User Fee)

  • 3–7 day notice results in the Loss of first night’s fee.

  • 48 Hours or less notice (Begins at midnight 2 calendar days prior to your scheduled check in date) results in the Loss of Full Reservation.

Rules & Regulations

  1. Campground season April 1st – October 31st

  2. Check out at 12 p.m. check in at 1 p.m.

  3. Reservations open at 9am on 1/5/23. Reservations must be paid in full at the time of booking. All reservations are done online.

  4. Only 1 RV/camper per site, no sharing of utilities

  5. Outside throw rugs are permitted but no bigger than 2x3 ft

  6. Price for the campground is determined each year by the Board of Park Commissioners:

    • § 97.30 AUTHORITY OF BOARD. “The Board of Park Commissioners is given jurisdiction over the city campground and is hereby granted authority to set fees for the use of the campground, adopt regulations and restrictions on use of the campground, and exercise authority over the administration of the city campground on a similar basis as the present operation of the municipal swimming pools and golf course.”

  7. Any disputes will be handled by the campground host. If they are unable to handle said situation, the police may be called and those in question may be asked to leave the premises. In this case, no refunds will be made.

  8. Our municipal campground is on a first come first serve basis and sites will be honored through the online reservation system.
