House rules for a happy stay
Policies
If your travel plans change and you must cancel your reservation, please call us at least 15 (fifteen) days* prior to your arrival date to cancel your reservation.
In the unlikely event that you must cancel with less than 15 days notice or shorten your stay, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation and no refund will be available.
Rates/policies are subject to change and vary during high impact periods and special requests. A 30 day cancellation notice is required on whole property bookings and for some holidays and special events.
Rules & regulations
ARRIVAL TIMES (4:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
Check-In is anytime after 4:00 PM. Normally an employee will be present to greet you, if not, there will be a note on the front door with check-in instructions. If arriving outside of check-in times, please call to make arrangements.
Checkout 11:00 AM.
SMOKING/VAPING POLICY
Smoking or vaping inside any Bear Necessities structure is strictly prohibited. Smoking and vaping is allowed outdoors. Smokeless tobacco, if you are old enough to use it you are old enough to dispose of it properly.
Failure to comply with the policy will result in a $200 cleaning fee charged to the card on file. By booking with the Bear Necessities Cottages you expressly agree to follow this policy and understand that you may be subject to the cleaning fee if evidence of smoking is documented by the Bear Necessities Alaska staff.
PETS
Pets may be allowed but only with permission prior to check-in and are only allowed in the cabins, campers and yurts. There is a $25 non-refundable pet fee and pet procedures you will need to follow to ensure an additional charge of $50 will not be added. These procedures include: using a lint roller to collect all hair, picking up dog feces, you must keep your pet on a leash and you cannot leave pet unattended in accommodations. Any damages will be charged to the card on file.
If pets make excessive noise or are aggressive to other guests, you may be asked to leave with no refund.
CHILDREN
Children are expected to treat property and other guests with respect. Any damages your child causes will be charged to the card on file. Please be respectful.
